BBC Concert Orchestra at the Movies
BBC Concert Orchestra at the MoviesPresented by Saffron Hall
Take to the skies with the BBC Concert Orchestra in a trademark mix of film scores and popular classics inspired by flight. Featuring the iconic flying scene from ET and other John Williams airborne film scenes from Star Wars and Hook alongside Walton’s Spitfire Prelude and Fugue and Sir Arthur Bliss’ soundtrack to the HG Wells sci-fi classic Things to Come, the concert also features the memorable violin solo theme from Schindler’s List and the soaring melodies and lush romanticism of Korngold’s violin concerto, as cinematic in scope and spirit as any of his Hollywood blockbuster scores.
